If you have ever taken an Intro to Psychology class that touches on Sigmund Freud’s Psychoanalytic Theory, you’ve almost certainly come across the textbook image of an iceberg floating in water to reference the theory’s components regarding the conscious mind. As the frosty analogy goes, the mind is like an iceberg, in that the visible portion that floats above the water (or the consciously active part of the mind), is only about ten percent of the entire iceberg. The vast majority of the icy mass sits below the water, cast in even colder temperatures and dark shadow, much like the inactive, subconscious part of our mind.

Well, it’s winter in much of the world, and frankly that iceberg analogy just brings up too many chilly thoughts for our liking. Enter “Mind’s Eyeland Time Neurofeedback and Mindfulness Retreat.” We know it’s a little last-minute, but the opportunity to pull off a three-year-old idea has arisen, and we have to take a swing! Plus, flights from all over the U.S. (at least) are extremely reasonable at this time, and many of us can use a getaway, especially one that provides such a powerful experience for both participant and presenter. So let’s discuss that experience!

Mind’s Eyeland Time is a three-day wellness retreat on the Caribbean island of St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The event takes place March 12, 13, 14, 2021, at Camp St. John at Neptune’s Lookout, and focuses on daily Peak Performance Neurofeedback Training (specifically training “Flow State,” or Alpha-SMR brain waves), multiple Sacred G Breath workshops (a pattern of breathing that helps the brain produce Gamma waves, and a natural DMT release from the Pineal gland), singing bowl sound baths, a selection of mindfulness-centered workshops that address the subject from multiple angles (including from PGA golf pros, artists and musicians, yogis, and Neurofeedback specialists), yoga and island-mountaintop aerial yoga, hiking, sunset acoustic music performances, and much more.

Tickets to the hyper-limited-capacity retreat (10 participants) are being sold as ultra rare, collectible digital art minted on the Ethereum blockchain. The ten, 1/1 NFTs (Non-fungible Tokens) will each feature a unique 3D-animation by digital artist moestradamus (Because of the Lotus, Lightbrush), with unique original music score and sound effects by John Welton (John Welton and the Awakening, Waterband) in each animation.

Four nights of camping at the immaculate Camp St. John are included in the retreat package, with tent, basic linens, and arguably the best possible view from any campsite in the world, provided (the fourth night included is March 10th, so you can wake up fresh at camp, ready for an early start — additional nights can be added by contacting, or booking at Camp St. John on AirBnB). Also unlocked with purchase are a Muse 2 wireless EEG headset, Myndlift electrode, 10–20 paste, and Elite HRV Heart Rate Variablity monitor, and two follow-up remote Neurofeedback sessions from home, for each participant, providing a powerful toolbox of equipment and skills to take home along with the epic experience.

If you know anything about cryptocurrency, and especially the NFT space, you know transaction gas fees are at ridiculous levels due to the increasing popularity of Ethereum. In an effort to circumnavigate this problem, the ultra rare series of NFT tickets to the retreat are being minted on the blockchain on Mintable.app. If you don’t know anything about this space, this will be a fantastic time to learn more about it, and actually turns your collectible ticket into a piece of the blockchain that you will own, and even be able to resell in the future (or the present if you desire).

An amazing cast of presenters is coming together to visualize this dream that has been cooking up in the Because of the Lotus kitchen for quite a while now, and we couldn’t be more excited about it.

Moe Angelo is an artist of many mediums — primarily music and radio in early life — focused on 3D animation, projection mapping, lasers, and Neurofeedback. Inspired by his work with Because of the Lotus, Moe became a BCN in 2019 — an internationally board-certified Neurofeedback Specialist through the BCIA. He has connected EEG equipment and Neurofeedback training to the control of digital video effects and animation in user experience-driven installation art, and animated CryptoArt.

Pat Anglin is a PGA professional golf pro and live painter trained in Fine Art at the Huntington School of Fine Art and Hofstra University. His work with Because of the Lotus features large-scale murals and virtual reality paintings.

Randall Pires is a breathwork specialist and technophile schooled in all things energy work. His Sacred G Breathworkshops, and donation of an early-adopted EEG headset, were pivotal to Because of the Lotus’ growth and development.

John Welton and Lyndsey Stropkey are twin flames, Reiki masters, thai massage therapists and amazing musicians. Their singing bowl soundbaths, musical and morning yoga (Lyndsey is a 600 hour yoga instructor trained at Kripalu), Reiki treatments and sunset acoustic music sessions will certainly be a highlight of participants’ experience.

Bev of Point Wellness is indescribable. The closest thing we can come up with is if you mixed a giant ray of sunshine with a rainbow (yes, we know that might negate the rainbow, but it’s the best we could do for now)! Bev’s Point Wellness is a staple on St. John, and she has developed a mobile aerial yoga rig that has been known to make appearances at the Neptune’s Lookout/Camp St. John property. We are elated to have her on board for this legendary inaugural retreat.

Neptune’s Lookout is home to Camp St. John, The Windmill Bar and VI Jam Fest (an annual music festival taking place the weekend before the retreat — March 4, 5, 6). The property is home to a historic sugar mill ruin originally known as Susannaberg, and you can even start getting hyped by tuning into their live webcam feed below!

More presenter announcements are on the way in the second wave information release that is coming with the official launch of the collectible NFT tickets. The tickets will be released in two waves, with the first five tickets launching this Friday, February 12, 2021 on Mintable’s Gasless Minting Store at a fixed price of $1800 worth of Ethereum at the time of purchase (which at the time of writing is 1.01 eth).

Please note ticket does not include airfare to St. Thomas, and the exact specifics regarding workshop details may change, but a firm schedule will be released as we get closer to the retreat. To begin your travel research, you will want to fly into Cyril King Airport on St. Thomas (STT), take a taxi to Red Hook, and catch the ferry to St. John (about $40 per person with suitcase in travel cost from airport to St. John). From the ferry dock on St. John you will catch a safari taxi to Camp St. John (aka Susannaberg, Neptune’s Lookout, or The Windmill Bar).

Stay tuned for even more details to come in the launch of these unique, ground-breaking NFTs on Friday!
